Step into the fascinating world of storytelling and visual expression at KNMA Saket. Led by artist Shubhankar Chandere, this workshop, Narratives in the Movements, invites participants to explore innovative ways of weaving stories through art.

This hands-on workshop will guide participants to:

  • Engage in interactive discussions to understand storytelling through forms, colors, and their relationship with space and emotions.
  • Working with shapes, colors, and textures to create visually compelling stories that reflect your imagination and instincts.
  • Learn to draw inspiration from your environment, memories, and feelings, fostering a deeper understanding of your landscape.
  • Demystify the process of creating characters and scenes while exploring how different elements affect meaning and narrative flow.

Workshop Flow:

  • Begin with an engaging session on the basics of narrativity and storytelling techniques.
  • Understanding the use of forms and colors in storytelling through interactive discussions and visual presentations.
  • Immerse yourself in a creative mood by visualizing stories inspired by music.
  • Work with provided materials, including digital prints, cut-outs, colors, and brushes. Develop your story using paper cut-outs, collages, and painted backgrounds.

This workshop is an opportunity to expand your artistic sensibilities, connect deeply with your environment, and craft a personal narrative through art. Whether you're a budding artist or simply curious about storytelling, this session promises to inspire creativity and imagination.

Artist Bio:

Shubhankar Chandere lives and works in Pune, India. He has been practicing with paintings, collage making, and lens- based methods. He also includes photography and video documentation in his works along with writing field notes. The superiorities and inferiorities within urban and rural, and decoding the power structure are some prominent themes and characteristics of his works

He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune (Maharashtra 2018) and his MFA from Sarojini Naidu School of Fine Arts, University of Hyderabad (Telangana 2021). He also participated in the 4th Kochi-Muziris Students Biennale, Kochi (2021). He also has participated in our Sacred Space Artist Residency Program, Hyderabad (2021). He has been an artist in residence in Canary Project Space Pune (2023).
