Explore the world of mark-making in this expressive art workshop inspired by the ongoing solo exhibition "If We Know the Point" by Amitava Das. Led by artist Ruchika Wason Singh, this interactive session delves into the spontaneous creation of forms using dots, lines, patterns, and textures. Participants will engage in intuitive mark-making, moving pencils and pens freely across the paper, tearing and layering paper to form unique collages. This freeform approach encourages a personal response to abstract elements and provides space to explore personal, political, and socio-cultural themes.

What to Expect:

  • Experiment with various mark-making techniques to create abstract compositions.
  • Engage in spontaneous drawing and collage-making processes.
  • Explore the power of marks to express thoughts and emotions.
  • Draw inspiration from Amitava Das's exhibition to explore creative forms of expression.

What will you get:

  • Learn to use dots, lines, patterns, and textures to create expressive compositions.
  • Develop spontaneous mark-making techniques to explore abstract forms.
  • Gain confidence in using collage and mixed media for visual storytelling.
  • Understand how abstract art can convey personal, political, and socio-cultural themes.
  • Leave with a completed artwork reflecting your creative process and explorations.
