Date : 11 Jan 2025 - 12 Jan 2025
Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Venue : National Crafts Museum, New Delhi
Bolte Chehre is a two-day workshop dedicated to exploring identity and self-expression, set amidst the inspiring surroundings of the National Crafts Museum. The museum, a treasure trove of India’s rich craft traditions, serves as a poignant reminder of the diversity and depth of human expression. Just as the museum showcases the stories of artisans and communities woven through time, this workshop invites participants to reflect on their personal journeys and identities.
Drawing inspiration from the intricate craftsmanship and heritage on display, participants will experiment with collage and embroidery to express their inner worlds. This process mirrors the museum’s role in preserving the narratives and artistry of countless lives, celebrating the complexity of both personal and collective histories.
The workshop begins with quick drawing exercises to capture our physical presence and moves deeper, transcending appearances to reflect the personal stories, experiences, beliefs, dreams, and emotions that define us. At the National Crafts Museum, each creation will resonate with the shared and unique stories that shape our identities, just as the museum celebrates the essence of India’s cultural tapestry.
What You’ll Experience:
- A supportive, welcoming environment to freely express your authentic self.
- Guided introduction to creative techniques like fabric collage, appliqué, and embroidery.

About the Facilitators:
This workshop will be led by facilitators from Rafooghar - The House that Mends, a community space in New Delhi. Here, women who have long faced discrimination and social exclusion come together to find sukoon (peace) and fursat (leisure) through the art of stitching and textiles.
